"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
Isaiah 43:2 reminds us that even when we pass through waters (trials & tribulations) God is with us.
I often describe a season of my life as feeling as if I was drowning with no lifeguard around. It reminds me of when I was 10 years old and a family friend pushed me into the deep end of a pool to forcefully teach me how to swim. I remember the terror of trying to fight my way to the top as I began to drown. I will leave out what my mom did when she found out lol. #praywithHERdontplaywithHER
In my "drowning" season, my entire life as I had known it was being flipped upside down. I didn't know what to do. What I did know is that God called me to love, that He wouldn't leave me, and that He has a plan for my life. I didn't understand why things were happening the way they were and eventually I gave up on trying to make sense of it (Proverbs 3:5). I made a daily effort to fully Trust God with my life. Trusting God was and still is the medicine for my anxiety. In those moments when I felt like I was drowning I had to remember that I could now swim like a fish, and call on Jesus to strengthen me to Just Keep Swimming!
